Direct Deposit
|
In some cases your student may be able to deposit money directly into your bank account. This is most viable when you live in the same country as the person you are tutoring.
Otherwise there is a fee for wire transfer of money. This fee usually applies both ways meaning that it will cost the sender to transfer money and then there is also a charge again
by the receiving bank. All together this can be up to $35.00 - $40.00. Not the best option unless you live in the same country at the time of the lessons.

Voice Chat / Virtual Telephone
|
Skype is a free downloadable, real-time voice and text chat communications program. We recommend it, because:
- If both people use skype on their computer the service is completely free.
- Just like using the phone but over your computer.
- Its also a very cheap phonecard for those without a computer. Personally used by our staff for long distance calls overseas. They call this Skypeout. So even if you don't use it for tutoring
consider it for talking with family and friends back home.
- It has perhaps the best voice quality of any Internet voice program.
- It works with any firewall.
- It is available in 17 languages: Danish, Dutch, Estonian, English, Finnish, German, French, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Swedish.
it easy to install and use.
Using Skype, you can have private communications with up to four other people. Skype requires a Windows 2000 or XP computer.
- More options are being added all the time but as of late they have capabilities for voice mail, etc.
For more information or to download a free copy of Skype, please visit the Skype website here.

Paltalk
|
Paltalk is a free, real-time voice and text chat communication tool. It is an established and very popular software, so you can readily find help files from across the Internet, often in several different languages.
Here are some other features:
- It has very high voice quality - even when using a standard modem.
- Only requires a Windows 98 or later PC so if you are running an earlier version of windows this might be the better selection.
- You (or your teacher) can create a private, password-protected room to conduct your lessons.

- Often in several different languages.
- Its white board is an excellent teaching tool that allows the teacher to page through different screens that could have been prepared beforehand.

There are several companies who offer text chat nowadays. Most are now combining voice with text chat. To name a few: Yahoo, AOL, ICQ, MSN... Take a look at them below:
- Yahoo - Voice and Text
- AOL - New version called AIM (Voice and Text)
- ICQ - Voice and Text
- MSN - Voice and Text
These are free to use and all have different pros and cons. Most are available in multiple languages. Check their websites for availability.
