2) How does it all work?!?!
|
 |
|
1. How much does it cost?
For learners, it is free to post ads. Teachers pay a small contact fee in order to speak with learners directly. For this
reason it is important to make your ad as defined and sincere as possible.

2. How do I find teachers?
To find teachers you conduct a search through our listing here. If you find
a teacher you would like to study with you can send them a general message telling them you are interested.
We encourage you to read reviews if the teacher has them and ask as many questions about their teaching methods
as you see fit.

3. What if a teacher contacts me first?
Great!! We will send you a message notifying you of the message. You then come to our site
log-in and view their message. Carefully review their message, profile, and see
if they are a worthy teacher. From here you have a couple options:
- After reviewing their profile and message if you feel you would like
to pursue a relationship with this person you can send them a general message
detailing your interest.
- If after reviewing their profile and message you feel you do not want
to pursue a relationship with this person we will send a standard message to them
on your behalf notifying them that you are not interested at this time.
- You can wait and think about the situation. Be aware they may find learners elsewhere, though.

6. What happens when the teacher agrees to give me lessons?
Congratulations!! We hope that you form a great and lasting relationship.
It is a good idea to be as specific as possible with learning goals, objectives, fees, and all
other matters. Not only will it make you look more professional but it will also help your
teacher understand where you want the learning process to go in the future.
Also, from experience this tends to lessen the chance of disagreements about arrangements.
After you have both done some sessions together you should both return to post reviews about one another.
Reviews can help both of you establish a reputation on our site for future use.

Yes, this will help to give you a reputation on our site and could help in the
future should you need a new teacher. Reviews will distinguish you from other learners.

8. What if I think the learner review of me was unfair?
Learners may add a message to any review explaining their point-of-view. Teachers may also
add future reviews in order to clear up past indifferences. Perhaps a teacher leaves
a bad review for a learner but later after further lessons the teacher changes their mind.

Direct Deposit
|
In some cases you may be able to deposit money directly into your teacher's bank account. This is best when you live in the same country as the teacher.
Otherwise there is a fee for wire transfer of money. This fee usually applies both ways meaning that it will cost the sender to transfer money and then there is also a charge again
by the receiving bank. All together this can be up to $35.00 - $40.00 US dollars. Not the best option unless you both live in the same country at the time of the lessons.

Skype is a free downloadable, real-time voice and text chat communications program. We recommend it, because:
- If both people use skype on their computer the service is completely free.
- Just like using the phone but over your computer.
- Its also a very cheap phonecard for those without a computer. Personally used by our staff for long distance calls overseas. They call this Skypeout. So even if you don't use it for tutoring
consider it for talking with family and friends back home.
- It has perhaps the best voice quality of any Internet voice program.
- It works with any firewall.
- It is available in 17 languages: Danish, Dutch, Estonian, English, Finnish, German, French, Hebrew, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and Swedish.
it easy to install and use.
Using Skype, you can have private communications with up to four other people. Skype requires a Windows 2000 or XP computer.
- More options are being added all the time but as of late they have capabilities for voice mail, etc.
